Bernadette
Bernadette studied BA Hons English and Drama at the University of Exeter working alongside John Rudlin, then did her PGCE at the University of Cambridge. Upon deciding to take her commedia training further, she then trained with Antonio Farva in Italy; specialising in Dario Fo. She has been teaching commedia in the south east of England as a qualified teacher since 1996 and was the one who introduced each member of the company to commedia. This was the beginning of the Complete Commedia Company!
Performances: Dario Fo's 'Trumpets and Raspberries' tour of English universities.
Teaching/rehearsing/performing: Palmers VI Form College since 1996.
Original scenarios created, written, rehearsed and performed each year with 16 to 19 year old Performing Arts students from Thurrock.
Two shows performed per year to packed houses at the William Palmer Lecture Theatre.
Workshops taken to Symposium, Rose Bruford Performing Arts College.
4 commedia troups trained to Theatre In Education standard and taken to primary schools in Thurrock.
Commedia scenarios performed on the streets at Horndon on the Hill Feast and Fayre and at the Village Green Festival and Village Beach Next Generation. Fully masked and costumed with contemporary and local references.
